To reduce the disease and economic burden of STD in Duval County
through prevention, early detection and countrywide education.
Vision
To improve the quality of life for all Duval County residents
by promoting responsible sexual behaviors, increasing access to
quality services to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and their
complications, and by eliminating disparities in the rate of
infection.

herpes and preterm birth and low birth weight associated with
bacterial vaginosis.

10. Increase the proportion of adolescents who abstain
from sexual intercourse or use condoms if currently sexually
active.

related to responsible sexual behavior during weekday and nightly
prime-time television programming.

12. Increase the proportion of local sexually transmitted
disease programs that routinely offer hepatitis B vaccines to all
STD clients.

13. (Developmental) Increase the proportion of youth detection
facilities and adult city or county jails that screen for common
bacterial sexually transmitted diseases within 24 hours of
admission and treat STDs (when necessary) before persons are
released.

departments that have contracts with managed care providers for
the treatment of nonplan partners of patients with bacterial
sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia).
